Virgin America hosts in-flight Victoria's Secret models

I know I've been writing a lot of posts about Virgin America (VX) lately, but what can I say? They keep launching random sales and PR stunts. You've gotta give it to them; the legacy carriers in the US use about jack for advertising.This time VX sponsored a Victoria's Secret in-flight PJ party / fashion show on a flight between New York and Los Angeles. On November 28th, regularly scheduled passengers were met at the gate with a kickoff gala and supermodels Selita Ebanks and Miranda Kerr. Over the course of the runway fashion show style flight, some members were given "supermodel" makeovers while the other unfortunate passengers were only treated to hot supermodels strutting down the aisle.
Although Air New Zealand has tried this before, this is the first time that such hijinks have been pulled off domestically. And I have to say, it's been generating a lot of positive buzz from the airline community. Hopefully, Virgin America will let Gadling know before they do this again, we can pass the news on and you can strategically book your ticket.

Haha, that's a neat idea. I would love to see an airline just go compeltely off the beaten to death path of horrible, miserable, lousy, boring service. Go Virgin America! Can't wait to see what they do next.

This is disturbing on so many levels. Where can I move to next? Characteristics I'd love to find are integrity, honor, respect for men and women, intelligence and decency. Umm, on Virgin Airlines? None found.

As a professional woman, a super model strutting her stuff down the aisle just doesn't do a lot for me. HOWEVER, if she just happens to strut by with a decent meal and a crown & ginger in her hands, I'll look twice at her ass ! Airlines need to wake up and understand that is it ALL about us, the passengers. Airline employees would never sit in their doctor's office for 6 - 8 hours waiting for them, or their children, to be seen. Why should I have to sit there waiting ? Don't get me wrong, I can certainly understand a gate hold due to weather. I really am understanding if something mechanical is happening. I would not drive my car if weather or mechanics was an issue. But if there is a remedy to this situation, I hope that all ears, from the top of the echelon down, are listening

What about families who are traveling? Not everyone wants to be subjected to such immature ways of advertising. Just get us from point A to point B without crashing, and the flight will have been worthwhile. Grow up Virgin America. You are becoming sleazy like some of the European carriers.
I thought Americans had more class than that.

What a load of garbage. It's not enough for travelers that an airplane can get you to your destination days before a bus or automobile. Everyone thinks they deserve to be 'entertained' at all moments. Whatever happened to quiet conversation, book reading, or contemplative thought? The world could use more exercise of the cerebellums.

Enough garbarge. Why are all so simple-minded that they cannot stand to be without 'entertainment' for even relatively short periods of time. Whatever happened to quiet conversation, book reading or just contemplative thought ? I feel sorry for the crewmembers of this airline who are trying to get to their base of work -- with a boatload of models taking up any empty seats, guess they'll have to move or be fired.
