That whole comment about not being "screwed up enough when I was younger to really empathize with Holden Caulfield" is ridiculous and can be quite offenseful to anybody reading this article that may have any conditions holden does. I myself have had a few problems in my life, but that doesn't mean I was "screwed up". I think it would be best if you thought more about your choice of words.
I didn't particularly like the book either, but that doesn't mean I was mean about it.
