The things that drive Japanese people to suicide are the same things that drive people to suicide in countries all over the world. What enables many Japanese to actually follow through with the act is the way the topic has been handled throughout Japan's history. Even in this day and age, many Japanese people still see the suicide solution as an honorable way out.
