Thanks Grant for bringing up this worthwhile topic. I agree with Marty about the importance of tourism dollars and I agree with Nancie about managing the number of tourists at particular sites before it's too late. Angkor Wat is a good example, and was the unfortunate poster child for National Geographic Traveler's "Places Rated" 2006 survey of top World Heritage sites.
