Hotel staff trained to deal with naked sleepwalkers
Apparently, there's been a surge in sleepwalking among guests in one of Britain's largest budget hotel chains. And the sleepwalking itself wouldn't be a huge problem, except that the majority of these zombie-like guests don't bother to put any clothes on before they take their nocturnal stroll. Reuters reports that the budget chain Travelodge has seen a seven-fold rise in sleepwalking in the past year, and that 95 percent of late-night walkers are scantily clad men. As such, the company has begun training staff how to deal with naked wanderers.
The company released a "sleepwalkers guide," which recommends keeping towels handy at the front desk -- "in case a customer's dignity needs preserving."

"Scantily clad men." I suppose that's not a bad thing if the men look like Johnny Depp, though. Right? It does sound like the start of a romantic story. The hotel check in girl who has to deal with a scantily clad, sleepwalking man. Hmmm. Maybe I should get back to work.
We talk about scantily clad people quite often on Lust Bites (we're a group of 16 erotic writers who spend time blogging rather than naked sleep walking). We may not always be suitable for work (or scantily clad), but we're always ready to talk about naked men.

I would bet this is cause by the increased usage of the prescription drug Ambian which acuse this in a huge number of users (including me). The drug company selling this dangerous drug has be covering this up for years. Gene

Well, This is quite intriguing - where were all these naked nocturnal night tramps showing their nether regions when i was a night clerk? - darn - some people get all the luck. Of course - we used to care for an elderly man - quite old - for the sake of privacy, we'll call him Father Time - not someone you'd particularly care to see nude, at 3am, or at any time of day - that would really give you nightmares - ...Is there a sudden surge in sleepwalking, if a naked man walks into a naked sleepwalking woman, is it rape?...It's all these prescriptions were are addicted too...remind me to bring my camera...and why don't these closet exhibitionists just wear pajamas?

If a woman and looked good it would not be a bad sight to see but if a man forget it.

how do they know these men are sleepwalking? It's hard to tell. I sleepwalk when i'm stressed and my boyfriend thinks i'm awake the whole time. These men might just be getting their thrill showing off what they have.

If a woman this would be a nice sight if a good looking one especially, if a man it would look at all good.

oh my gosh do they think a towel will preserve the diginity a sleepwalking man when in the photo the sleepwalker has transformed into a transvestite and a pretty convincing one at that
Kuuipo Oct 28th 2007 11:21AM
It really doesn't come as as surprise as there are people that do actually sleep walk and what they wear or are not wearing anything makes absolutely no difference at all.

Sounds like a LOT of creative thinking and writing...

Once knew a young girl who rode her bike two blocks to her high school..locked it up and then laid down on a bench about a 100 yards into the school court yard and continued her sleep time. This all happened about between 5 and 6 in the morning. I was a coach at the school and had gotten there right around 6:15..saw her sleeping on the bench in her pj's and knew right away something wasnt quite right. Most amazing thing I ever witnessed in sleep walking.

I've been a sleepwalker for years. Number one rule? Never sleep naked. Close encounters in strange places are common. And for goodness sakes, sleepwalkers don't walk with their eyes closed.

I see nothing wrong with this. I frequently did this when in office, even when I was wide awake. Don't they say that: if you got it, flaunt it.

A surge of sleepwalkers at a specific chain of hotels? Come on. Think about it. What does that sound like if not a publicity stunt. I would also guess that since it has made news, there are now a bunch of people looking to get in on the action. Doesn't that seem a little more likely? Maybe the people who talk in their sleep told the people who walk in their sleep there is a convention at Travelodge. (Secretly, it sounds like a gay thing. Seriously. I'm gay. I wouldn't doubt it.)

In response to "9 Bobby G. Not so seceret now... Maybe it was the Parliament House in Orlando and they said a Britt hotel to throw off all the real Queens. Prob a bunch of exhibitionist who when caught say they were sleep walking to get out of being arrested. I wonder if their lower half was sleeping too.

Gene Bloom, #2's comment, is most likely correct. I have also done the unmentionable naked sleepwalking while on Ambien. Fortunately it was in my own home. Unfortunately for one of my sons, he had to put me back to bed.
While this does sound like a cute story line, it definitely has a very serious side. MANY of these Ambien sleepwalkers have been in automobile accidents - which they don't even remember being in. And there isn't even a mention of this in their "warning signs" for this drug.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS SIDE EFFECT! ! !
#9, Bobby G comments of a "specific chain", but I'll bet it's more prevalent everywhere, and it just hasn't been brought to everyone's attention before this. And there are probably more men "streakers" because there are more men out there working on the road, and needing a quick fix to get to sleep.
AGAIN: Cute story line, BUT serious side effects...

I worked in a hotel as night audit for 3 tears. I never saw a sleepwalker. Its another poor excuse of reporting on blogging or what ever you call it. Just remember any idiot can write it and hope people will think its fact .
ajm33771 Oct 28th 2007 2:16PM
well now, scantily clad men? disgusting, but there is a cure! a rubber band and a paper clip will cure them for good. only requirement is that management ensures that the staff gets proper training on the use of the previously mentioned implements.

post # 13 Wayne, that is a very good point that you make there. anyone can write an article and for all we know it may have been generated by one of the sensationalist weekly papers.

stress, drugs, and alcohol can send the subconscious in over drive. Ambien and many other scripts can cause dangerous sleepwalking and worse when mixed with alcohol.
There should be some sort of warning about this, it's a serious thing!
