Pinkberry: Coming to a corner near you
Ever heard of Pinkberry? Considering that people line up around the corner at its Los Angeles and New York stores for a taste of the store's signature frozen yogurt, which is a hit among several celebrities, probably. I've never been to Pinkberry, and living up here in Canada, I suppose I probably won't pay them a visit for a very long time, but you might see a store come to your neighbourhood. That's right, the bizarrely popular, perversely expensive yogurt chain is expanding. And considering that the Chairman of Starbucks is one of the people working on the deal, expect to see a lot of them. What's all the hype about, you ask? Pinkberry offers a selection of tasty, fat-free fro-yos with yummy toppings that you can choose yourself, like chocolate chips, mango and Fruity Pebbles cereal. Still, I'm not sure I would wait in line for it.

mmmmmm...I'm choking on CrackBerry with rasberries, strawberries, and blueberries right now.....yumm! And last week I had coldstone and I liked that too.....just can't have it all the time...and quite honestly I prefer PinkBerry over Coldstone almost anyday...but hey that's just me...but at least I open up my taste buds to "new and improved" food experiences....guess most of you belong to the meat n potatoes, mac n cheese set and will eventually all be morbidly obese and die of some heart clogging massive heart attack

FYI -- the person who wrote the article said they've never been to Pinkberry -- so any attitude the author has is pure speculation. Also, they only have 2 flavors of yogurt -- plain (what some have called "sour milk flavor"... um, that's kind of what yogurt is, people... and green-tea flavor.

hey felicia et al.
yes there are plenty of non fat frozen yogurt places with loads of toppings all over the country....however they are not the same as pinkberry..and NO not cuz reese eats it (dumbasses). Because the taste is different PERIOD! not creamy at all if you want creamy then go for gelato, or coldsone CREAMery...all you bitches keep comparing it to those ice creams when it's not, and comparing it all the "other" frozen 'gurt places out there and it's NOT...
taste it, get your mind outta the food court mentality, realize that there are plenty of different taste sensations out there that are not necesarilly loaded up with tons of processed sugars and fats...and ENJOY

You can't save most of these people. All they know is the bland, oversweet, disgusting crap that passes for food in this country. America...the culture of excess...in everything.
Pinkberry would be very popular in Europe, among those who appreciate subtlety and flavor.
And FYI, people...if you want to live longer with a better quality of life...stop sucking down all that Coldstone Creamery Crap and start treating your body right! Make your own frozen yogurt...recipe is at foodnetwork.com.
Thank God for the West Coast...most of the country is positively backward compared to them.

All of these strong opinions have got to be generating a lot of business for this stuff. I might look into setting up a franchise. True, most Californians gag at the thought of Cold Stone or Dunkin Donuts. Ice cream is for kids and doughnuts are for cops. San Diego is ranked #2 as most attractive people in the country. Miami is #1. Midwest has the ugliest. Hmmmm. Yogurt or ice cream?

I LOVE pinkberrys. It's a matter of taste - everyone doesn't have to like it, and those that don't, hey, more for us!!

Not all of us in LA like Pinkberry. My friends and I tried it once will never touch it again. It comes in only 2 flavors; "sucks" and "sucks harder". It's just a fad like Krispy Kreme was before they declared bankruptcy. I'll stick with my regular yogurt place, thank you very much.

This type of tart sweet yogurt is very popular among Koreans and there were other places in Koreatown in L.A. and then PinkBerry made is popular to the general public. There are other places that have a creamier version of this and they are sooooo good. I love this type of tart taste and it helps that it's not super calorific. I think this distinctive taste will appeal to people who have tried a wider variety of cuisine and probably not appeal to more bland palates.

HAVENT HAD IT YET BUT CANT WAIT. I BET IT IS LIKE THE FORZEN YOGURT THE RESTAURANT "40 CARROTS" SERVES. IT PROBABLY IS NOT FOR THE GENERAL POPULACE, BUT FOR A TRUE HEALTH FOODIE. EVEN JAMBA JUICE, WHICH IS A VERY POPULAR CHAIN DOESNT USE TRUE FROZEN YOGURT IN THEIR SMOOTHIES, THEY USE SOMETHING MORE LIKE ICE CREAM. THAT IS WHY IT IS SO POPULAR, AND DRAWS IN THE MAC D'S CROWD. THEY TRY TO MAKE IT SOUND HEALTHY, BUT IT'S REALLY A FROZEN DESERT THEY ARE ADDING IN THE SMOOTHIE. EXCEPT FOR ONE, THE PROTIEN BERRY PIZZAZ SMOOTHIE WHICH IS THE ONLYONE I WILL EAT. BRING ON THE HEALTHY FOOD!!!!

i live in LA, and pinkberry is absolutely disgusting. if you want good nonfat frozen yogurt, try humphrey yogart's in sherman oaks or studio yogurt in studio city. their fro yo is MILES above pinkberry in taste AND service.

BUDDY, IN LOS ANGELES PEOPLE ARE SO FUCKING STUPID AND SO HARD UP FOR THE NEXT "IT" THING, THAT THE WILL VIRTUALLY STAND IN LINE JUST TO SEE BRITTNEY SPEARS HIT PARKED CARS OR SHOPPING AT RITE AID. PEOPLE IN L.A. HAVE THEIR MORAL COMPASS, VALUES, LOGIC, GOOD SENSE AND TASTE BACKWARDS, AND WOULDN'T KNOW SOMETHING GREAT IF "IT" CAME UP AND BIT THEM IN THE ASS!. PEOPLE IN LOS ANGELES ARE IDIOT'S. YOU CAN'T GAGE ANY PRODUCT BY THE OPINION OF IDIOT'S WHO ARE SOCIETY REJECTS AND STUPID ENOUGH TO LIVE IN LOS ANGELES. WHY ANYONE EVEN LIVES IN L.A., IS COMPLETELY BEYOND ME??

I don't understand why this is such a big deal, Frozen yogurt has been around for a long time. What is so revolutionary about Pink Berry? Their toppings are nothing new...so really why is this a story?

Low fat and high fat do have different taste. It is everyones choice I think the world has better things to worry about -put your efforts to better use

I just checked out the Pinkberry web site. What an moronic idea! Why go to the effort of eating an uber healthy fat free unsweetened yogurt if you are going to top it with Cap'n Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, or Oreo's? Except for the fruit most of their toppings menu defeats the purpose.
And for all you food snobs who are looking down your noses at the people who eat real ice cream, life is all about the moderation. I would rather eat something decedent once a month and savor every bit, then eat some slop that's good for you, but tastes like crap every day.
Pinkberry is just evidence the Cali hippies did too much acid in the 60's!
