Bizarre Foods From Around The World
What constitutes typical North American food these days is kind of gross, if you ask me. I'm talking about all the processed junk we put in our bodies. But compared to some other 'regional' cuisines that are mentioned in this article, I guess we're pretty lucky. Need examples?- In Iceland, for instance, Hakarl is made of putrefied shark meat. Sheep's head (served in its entirety) is also popular.
- In Saudi Arabia, camels are a popular item -- camel's feet and sour camel humps in particular.
- Fried grasshoppers, earthworms and locusts are all the rage in Africa.

Brain curry in India (goat brain, not monkey and not a la Temple of Doom).
For those of you who want to try brain, it's not worth it. They taste like mush.

Goat's balls (kind of nutty actually) in central Turkey, and chilli fried tarantulas in Cambodia (the legs were pretty good with a cold Angkor beer).

Trusty me,Camels are so delicious, ant it doesn't taste weird at all. and it's meat is VERY expensive, so its not the thing people eat regularly..it's usually eaten in big celebrations. and its also eaten in my country (Emirates) and Qatar and probably Kuwait and Bahrain Too.

the most bizarre thing ive seen eaten is live octopus or some kind of fish that looks like an octopus. I saw this on tv, people in some asian country were buying those live octopus like things and swallowing them directly while there still alive!
Now that's bizarre!

It still makes me sick to my stomach to think about someone eating meat from a hog.

I've never eaten anything really bizarre unless you count Nestle's Crunch bars with Arby's horseradish sauce. For everything else, I watch that tv show.

I've eaten camel in Kenya...it was extraordinarily tough, and wasn't delicious at all. Though fresh crocodile is quite tasty. Also there are a couple restaurants there similar to Brazilian churasscurias that serve giraffe, zebra, wild boar, crocodile and some other funky meats. They local people there do not eat this stuff though.

A tribal ritual of drinking cow's blood. Also, from a channel 11 film on South Korea, these lovely people are being left to eat cardboard and tree bark, just to fill their stomachs, because the government wants them to starve.
If peoples had enough food to eat, they wouldn't be ingesting waste, like camels' hooves, animal testicles, and bugs. It all comes down to starvation.

John, Zeke, and everyone else who thinks that this is funny:
You make me as sick as would my attempting to eat this garbage. You are lucky that you have all of the steak and potatoes, and everything else that you chow down on, as much as you want and then some, at your fingertips. Lucky you!

I ate friend grasshoppers in Oaxaca, Mexico. They are very popular in that part of Mexico. In MExico City or other areas, you don't find them.. They were interesting - crunchy and coated with chili powder. Not being the biggest fan of chili powder, its not something I would go out of the way to eat. They are sold in baskets in the Oaxaca markets by the native people. I got them in the Zocolo, however in Oaxaca City from a restaurant.
