you can find a romanian restaurant in Chicago and a couple in NY.in downtown Detroit they have a romanian grill where you can eat shwarma.

about "mici" they have the meat prepared and ready to grill in some polish food delis in Troy,MI(they have beef tripe soup there too-"ciorba de burta") and polenta from Kroger with cottage cheese its almost the same as "mamaliguta cu brinza"

for "sarmale" you should pay me a visit in Michigan :P
