The NEW Greatest and Most Unusual Travel Photo of All Time
A while back, Willy posted what he called the greatest and most unusual travel photo of all time. Remember that? Well, Willy -- my dear friend -- I think I've found a photo that beats yours. It's the new greatest and most unusual travel photo of all time. Have a look:

Click the image above to see the ultra-high-res version. Trust me, it's totally worth it. I've been spending some time browsing around Google Earth to figure out what part of our planet the astronauts are floating over, but I haven't found it yet. Any ideas? [via]
Update: Gadling reader Justin (not me) says: "That's the Cook Straight between New Zealand's North and South islands!" From the looks of the map below, you're right, Justin! Thanks!

It's not amazing that Justin new the location of the area beneath the astronauts.. If Justin knew that Pre-Google Earth, I'd have given him more credit but how hard is it to go to Google Earth and match up the shape of the area visible in this picture. I personally thought it was America, with the hook-like land at the bottom being Florida. I'm still not certain it's not the Southern part of the East Coast-America?

wow what a picture, I think this photo should win that prize what's it called the 'pulitzer'? I mean look at the beautiful day it is, the clarity of the sky and the digital quality of the image.. So perfect, on my new laptop that has pretty good image quality I have zoomed this photo in and it is truly amazing how detailed the photo is.

Come on, you guys! It's an obvious fraud, one pic placed on top of another, an easy Photoshop trick. Get real. Where could they actually perform this where gravity wouldn't affect them? Far from earth, .......... like, reeeeeeaaal far.
