Best Ballpark Food in America
Nothing is more American than apple pie and baseball. And nothing is more baseball than peanuts and Cracker Jacks. Maybe 100 years ago ...
Today's major-league stadiums are chock-full of specialty foods that are often signature items for a particular park. For me, growing up in Los Angeles, it was the Dodger Dog. Mmmm ...
I was disappointed, however, to learn that the Dodger Dog did not make this year's Sporting News list of Best Ballpark Food in America. In fact, I recognized almost nothing traditional about the five items on the list -- although baseball fans at each of the stadiums featured would vehemently disagree with me.
For the record, here are the best five foods found at baseball stadiums across America according to the editors of Sporting News. For a detailed description of each, click here.
Sausage and chowder: Fenway Park
Rocky Mountain oysters: Coors Field
Primanti Bros. Sandwich: PNC Park
Rubio's fish taco: Petco Park
Old Style beer: Wrigley Field

Old Style at Wrigley Field is a meal?? No wonder noone there has a clue what the score is, they are a bunch of drunks there for the party. How about going across town to Sox Park (I won't call it US Cellular) and getting a Bests Kosher with grilled onions and mustard? Now that is what ballpark food is all about.

Fenway and the Red Sox, another park that allows the drunks to take over. At least with the Patriots at Gullet if you get out of hand they kick your butt out of the stadium and revoke your season tickets. Another reason why Baseball is getting to be like Basketball not worth watching

Hands down, Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia has the most phenomenal cuisine in the country! People have come from other countries just to eat there - and watch the Phillies get smacked around for dessert!

You missed US Cellular fields best meal, any cheap whiskey. When sox fans DID show up at the park it was to be part of the largest outdoor salon in chicago. Didnt hurt when looking at the female whitesox fans there.

Do they still serve those amazing barbequed Turkey Legs in Arlington Texas at Ranger games? That's the best food I've had in any ballpark--does anyone know?

How could they leave out Dodger Dogs. I first had them in 1999 and have not stopped since. Just a bit below Nathan's and Hebrew National.

It is truly all about the all beef dodger dogs with everything on top!

World's Largest Outdoor Saloon? How many years ago was that? Not to mention, that was the old park, not the current U.S. Cellular Field. Get your facts straight Cubbieboy.

the worse food is at the san francisco ball park every thing is over priced so Mcgowen can pay the steroid man.

It's diffenatly Citizens Bank Park in the MLB, but you should also check out the minor league parks. Frontier Field in Rochester, NY is one of the best.
A great variety of food and drinks at a very reasonable price.

I have to agree with the minor league parks. John O'Donnell Stadium in Davenport, Iowa has great food at great prices! Not to mention you can get almost any of the major beer brands, and a few local brews.

I,m an old guy who has been to almost every park in the National league. Hands down ! citizens bank park in Phila. !!!

Over the past 3 summers I have been fortunate enough to visit every Major League & several Minor League ballparks. Without a doubt Chicago's U.S. Cellular is #1 for food. They have by far the widest array of food available, all of it very good. I would rate Philadelphia a close 2nd. Again, good food, but not the big selection that Chicago offers.

I can't believe that you missed the best sandwiches in baseball - Mama's of Corona at Shea Stadium. I may be a BIG Yankee fan, but Shea definitely has the best italian sandwich hands down!
