Those are really good ideas, Andrea. I especially agree with the idea of looking at "bad art." I've often thought we have trouble appreciating literature in school because because we're mainly presented with a string of "great" "classics." Maybe if we were exposed to less successful work we'd have a greater appreciation for what makes the great stuff work. But of course teachers--and museums--only have so much space to present material so they naturally show us the "best" stuff.
