First of all. Who in their right mind thinks that a knife should be allowed aboard a plane? I work for TSA and I definently think you should think about the thousands of people we are protecting every day than just yourself. So you couldn't take the corkscrew. Think of what it is and what it could be used for. As far as for the syringes that you found aboard the plane..basically anything used for medical purposes can go. Rules are rules and TSA personnel is trained for these sort of things. Passengers don't have a clue.
