Next time perhaps opt for late-lunch instead of dinner?
While Copenhagen airport is lightyears ahead any US airport, I would still prefer to be _at_ the airport an hour before and not start the airport journey an hour before.. And while travelling within the US is like taking a bus (with ridiculous security and long queues), travelling in Europe is still travelling between different countries.
