10 Drinks Men Should Not Order
I'm always a little dubious when someone deigns to tell me what is and what is NOT allowed when it comes to male behavior. I occasionally read magazines like Details and when I come to the "Clothes a man should never wear" articles, I always find a few things from my own closet right there on the page. Keeping up with what's in style costs too damn much money. Besides, yesterday's faux pas is today's hip new thing. But I do have to agree somewhat with a few of the drinks listed in this fun slide show admonishing males over what should NOT be ordered and consumed among alcoholic beverages.
To wit: anything blended, unless you're on the beach. In other words, fruity drinks with little umbrellas or massive hunks of fruit tipping off of them: a no-no. I buy this. Sugary drinks like Mai Tais are just not very masculine. You're not having dessert for goodness sakes, you're getting hammered with friends! Beer is bitter and wine is sour and scotch packs a punch for a reason. You're supposed to suffer just a small amount for the sinful indulgence of drinking them.
If it's all sugary and yum-yum, you'll drink all the time. And you'll not only become a drunkard, you'll be a fat drunkard from all that sugar. Or so goes my own concocted explanation for why I don't order sugary drinks. Alas, you may find a Pina Colada nice and fulfilling. So go ahead and order one. And have a nice little plate of quiche while you're at it.

And here again is another story from the minds of AOL where you don't get the story right away. You have to click yet another link to find out about the story and of course never get the whole story. Where is the list of 10 drinks men should not order? I sure wish I could click on one of these and get right away what the headline said was there. After a few drinks I don't want to decifer what I'm looking for.

By all means, I am not an expert about analyzing someone else’s personal opinion, but can say that I am educated with gender. One, society determines what is considered masculine and feminine, while biology determines the sex of an individual. Why shouldn’t men drink these drinks? It is because women do or that it is colorful? Or because society has engraved our brains that men are supposed to drink beer? If you don’t believe me, think about the television show “The Simpsons” that has been airing for eighteen years now. Little children watch this show and they see that Homer is a man who drinks beer, is lazy around the house, and does whatever he pleases. While his wife, Marge, is the person who is a house wife, cooks, cleans, takes care of the kids. Yes, this can be a silly example, but a very logical argument. I do believe that biology does portray some of the wonder distinctiveness that men and women have, but how people are raised also has a key constituent to it as well.

guys that wear pink, only do it to make a statement. Pink is not gay, it is just ridiculous looking on any male. As for drinks, ill take a fruity mix drink over a beer any day. Beer tastes awful and again, men drink it to try and look cool, but they end up looking low class and trashy

It seems to me the Erik Olsen has some serious gender issues. Is he that insecure in his own sexuality that he has to assert himself by chugging Boiler Makers? I know lesbians that do that. Perhaps he'd prefer drinking beer while wearing a red flannel shirt and singing the lyrics to "I'm A Lumberjack And I'm Okay!" Does Mr. Olsen use cologne? Hair care products? Do you go to a salon to have your haircut or an good old fashioned barber that has a pole out front? I would suggest that he worry more about those clothes in the closet than what he orders at the bar!

Absurd....I didn't realize we still where stuck in the 1950's, men drink all the "girly" drinks you want.

I'm a tall, slender and ver effeminate drag queen but I drink jack and coke only. So just because I'm gay, I should be drinking a Shirley Temple. As if. Who cares what you drink! Just drink responsibly!

They took away are Rainbow..Not taking our pink or purple shirts..They are cool and the ladys love them..
