Watching your Home TV on your PDA

It is getting easier and easier to bring your entertainment with you when you travel.

Last week we wrote about a nifty little gadget that plugs into your laptop’s USB port and allows it to receive TV signals. Well, this week we have an even easier way for you to stay tuned to your favorite shows while traveling: the SlingPlayer Mobile.

If this sounds familiar, you’re probably thinking of the SlingBox–a device that attaches to your TV and allows your to watch it online from anywhere in the world that has an internet connection.

Slingplayer takes this concept a step further. But instead of flinging your TV shows to an online connection, it streams them to your mobile phone.

In this manner you can watch TV from anywhere you get a signal. And not only can you channel surf live television, but you can also pause, record, and playback just like a DVR!

With the quality and size of mobile screens these days (i.e. the iPhone), this is a truly outstanding convergence of mobile devices and home entertainment. Once 24 starts up again, I just might have to get me one of these!
