There's something about Ember's stories of China that I find just riveting, and this Tiananmen Square story is perhaps my favorite, in a sad and fascinating way. She makes me feel like I'm there...We had an intern from Beijing in our office one summer who was very bright and articulate, and who insisted Western media got it all wrong, it was that violent students had massacred innocent soldiers, and she clearly believed this.
