Air Canada is Set to Ban Pets in the Cabin
Air Canada is set to become the first Canadian airline to ban pets from riding in the cabin of its aircrafts. This news comes after one passenger had a severe allergic reaction to the the presence of a cat in a seat near her. Unfortunately, because the air on flights is recycled, allergic reactions often won't go away simply by moving the pet to another seat away from the allergy sufferer.Meanwhile, Air Canada's competitors, particularly Westjet, are taking advantage of the ban by attempting to woo pet lovers.
I'm an animal lover but I kind of agree with Air Canada -- it's not fair for allergy sufferers to bring your pets in the cabin. It's also not really fair to make animals suffer in the belly of the plane, but I think pets suffer from any journey, no matter where they are on the plane. Here's my solution: leave Fido at home or drive.

Too bad someone wouldn't ban Air Canada from the sky. They are the worst airline around. Last year, traveling from Seoul to Halifax, I asked for a blanket when I was on the leg between Vancouver and Halifax. The attendant looked at me and "We don't give blankets, you have to buy them.!!!???. That was just one incident, of several, that stand out in my mind. Air Canada is a Canadian embarrassment!

Banning pets from planes because of allergies?? How about banning those who insist on bathing themselves in their favorite perfume/cologne...or better yet....the ones that just plain stink of
B.O. !! The number of pets that fly on a plane are limited to a small number (WestJet I believe only allows 2 small pets in the cabin) per flight. I fly alot...there are more smelly people on any given flight that there are pets. BAN THE SMELLY PEOPLE!!

I agree with Air Canadas move to ban pets from the cabin. My son has allergies to all animals and would be unable to tolerate 2 minutes near one without suffering for days because of the exposure. Paying customers not pets...should be considered. Put your beloved pooch/kitty/bird in care while you travel.
