Thank you for your wonderful description of Ketchikan. Having grown up here, it is easy to forget about all the wonderful qualities my town has to offer. Thank you for reminding me how special this place really is. Even though it rains ALOT! Booze was in fact snuck into the houses through trap doors from the creek during prohibition. If you make the trip again make sure and tour Dolly's House where you can see the trap door. Also, make sure and come in July to watch Ketchikan's original melodrama "The Fish Pirates Daughter" every Friday night in July with an all you can eat crab feed. It's wonderful, thanks again and come back soon.
