I was complaining to a fiend in Montréal about the challenges that cyclist/pedestrians face in schlepping beer bottles back to the Brewers' Retail when she alerted me to the fact that recyclables left at the foot of one's walk will disappear. If this be so in Montréal, the odds are that something similar happens in Ottawa. And it does.

As well, I have come to leave tin cans in a plastic bag for them and, as of a fortnight ago, wine bottles are now eligible for a deposit of 20c. And during the night, small groups of faeries come by and collect them for us.
