Transatlantic Flights for $14!
Ryanair, the Dublin-based budget airline, has announced plans to start selling tickets from Europe to the United States for just £7. That's about $14 dollars, folks!
Ryanair plans to make this possible sometime in the next four years thanks to the new "open skies" policy which will allow more carriers to fly between the EU and the United States.
As is always the case with Ryanair tickets, however, the advertised fair does not include taxes, which are expected to bump the ticket up to £80 ($160). That's still a steal any way you look at it. The airline plans to make the route profitable the same way it does with its European flights: through the onboard sales of drinks, goods and entertainment.
According to a recent article in the Telegraph, another budget airline is already beating Ryanair to the punch. Zoom Airlines will start flying a New York to Gatwick leg for just £129 one way (including all taxes) by this June.
I don't know about you, but I see a lot of European travel in my near future.

The Zoom airline website says due to Department of Transportation regulations, they are unable to fly from the US to London at this time.
WTH?

$14 to get here, $1,400 to get back to Europe.

It doesn't say that they don't offer the flightfrom the US to London. It says that it can't offer it to US citizens at this time. Either way, very weird.

Ok, sorry, it says to persons in the US, not what I wrote previously, "US citizens".

Can't offer this deal to persons from the U.S. What kind of prejudice is that?

I believe they charge for baggage as well....per kilo! One large piece of luggage could cost more than the ticket!

I hope they do charge for baggage. Some of these clowns want to put a grand piano in the overhead compartment

it's not predjudice to not offer flights to and from the US. the US is still at war and there are still alot of ppl who want to hurt the US anyway they can, so the state dept has taken upon itself to do right by its citizens and the world and make sure that we limit flights in order to protect ourselves and our allies. smart move, i think.

Air Tran, Spirit, Jet Blue, all have flights to London at a discounted fare. Use the internet. Don't be fooled by the rockbottom prices these new airlines have. "If it's too good to be true, it usually isn't".

Am I missing something here? I checked both the Spirit airlines site, and Tran air, and I dont see ANY flights to London there. Had it been available I'd have used it the last 2 times I went to London....somebody please fill me in this....
