Bed Jumping: Sounds Dirty ... But Isn't
Bed Jumping can be done individually, as a group, while doing other activities or while wearing masks. You even get extra points for face plants. Happily, this equal-opportunity activity even allows for this poor man to participate, despite his obvious physical deformity. (Ouch ... that's gonna hurt.)

If all this bed jumping is a little too juvenile for you, you can always check out HBC's user-submitted shots of various hotel pools. It's cool, too, though not as offbeat.

I use to jump on beds when I was 3, now I'm not so easily amused, I'm 7 now.

Of course I jump on the bed. I also pull the covers back to make sure the sheets are clean. I take as many hotel pool towels as I can get into my suit case. I just love to do because it helps to off set under cover hotel taxes that ain't on the sign. Once I took 37 pool towels and gave them to street people. I felt just like Robin Hood. One of these day I want to use the phony drivers lisence that I used to buy beer when I was under age. I want to rent a room and take everything including the comode and entrance door. I will give it all to the Red Cross or a poor Chrisian church.

Stupid Adults:
And we wonder why Kids these days have not respect for other peoples property or other people. They learn from their parents. I guess when someone drives on your grass, front lawn, or across your plants, just consider it grass driving. Hell it not your grass why should you care if you can't stay on the street and drive like adults, ooops, the kids are acting like adults.

so sad, so sad, no wonder prices are going up so much. There was a show on tv a while back, I believe it was nightline or one of those shows. It was called the "dumbing down of America" It was about the school systems, but sadly this same practice is extending into all phases of life. People used to respect other peoples property, but not anymore. And then they complain cause the prices keep going up. Who the hell do you all think is paying for this bull. Each and every one of us. Maybe we should all get on the bandwagon, cause then the costs would go up so much, no one could hope to afford to stay at a motel, and if no one stayed, they would all go out of business, then you idiots would HAVE to destroy your own beds. But sadly, then the rest of us would also have no place to sleep when traveling. I have a better idea, maybe its time we got a grass roots movement going that would send these asses to jail and make restitution. Maybe that is what we need to do to teach em to respect others and respect others property.

I guarantee that hotels/motels get rid of more beds due to bedbugs than ones being damaged by jumping on them. I bet if you seen what's actually on the walls, flooring, furniture, ceilings, beds etc. using luminol and a black light you would not even stay in a hotel/motel room.

I dont jump on beds but allow my young daughter to jump on our bed and hotel beds a few times, once in a while. I grew up being allowed a few bounces in my own bed and when we went on vacation before being told "enough now, you don't want to break it."
I think pretty much everyone here needs to lighten up a bit. I travel several times a year and most hotels, motels and B&Bs all charge way too much. Often the high charge does not match the sub-standard product/services offered. Hotels, motels and B&Bs also often GROSSLY misrepresent themselves on their websites and in brochures. I have booked places that call themselves newly renovated and when i have arrived the place hasn't been redone since the early 80's. I have learned "modern" often means the modern era style of decorating in the 70's. I booked a room once off a brochure for 350.00 per night that promised "A tropical garden atrium, with exotic birds surround our sparkling indoor pool. At night, relax in your comfortable new bed while looking at the crashing ocean waves" Well the 'sparkling pool' was gross, the exotic birds were a few parakeets aand two parrots and the indoor tropical atrium consisted of a few dying plants and a bunch of fake flowers. the so called Ocean view room was a joke. No view without standing on one side of our tiny balcony and craning our necks. T mattress looked and felt like a 99.00 special And when we arrived and I saw what we were blowing 350 per night on I wanted to stay somewhere else but couldn't because they were going to charge us for the full stay anyway. We stayed one night, left the next day and had a long battle before our credit card company finally sided with us months later and credited us back.So i wonder how many angry hotel owners that posted here are honest when representing their establishment.

Been in the hotel business for nearly a decade now and every day my respect for my fellow humans drops a little more. Harmless? No. What's the cost? Burning candles/incense in a room that soots the walls and ceiling? Room had to be repainted. Taking a dump in the pool? Shut down for 24 hours for cleaning. 100 plus rooms of people denied one of the benefits of staying there. Shooting out a window? Room out of order until replacement of window could be completed. "Decorating" the carpet with bleach? Had to replace the carpet. "Hidden" costs. Yet we greet you with a smile and hope you're not one of the above mentioned idiots.

To the person who said "The hotel can charge whatever they want, but collecting it another thing" for damaged bed, well, I can tell you from working in law enforcement. The hotels have their very own collection agency. It's called the police. Intentionally damaging another person's property is classified as criminal mischief, which is usually amisdemeanor, depending on the amount of the damage.

this sounds like an over achievers idea
of fun ......
the reason being to stick it to their
parents for making them get all A'ssssssssss!

News must be slim to run this step-down from stupidity again. I, however, must respond to the person’s comment claiming that hotels couldn't object too much(paraphrased)because signs aren't posted telling people NOT to jump on beds. I remind my fifth graders each and every year that I cannot think of every single thing they should not do... COMMON SENSE has to come into play at some point. As years pass, however, I see that my admonition means less and less. Some people just don't get it. The only hope for a dwindling few of us is that another planet will become available soon.

Although I find Jess' comments amusing:"the cost of oranges didn't go up due to people jumping on fruit...",JESS, COME ON...AND FOR THE REST OF EVERYBODY, WE MUST NOT AND SHOULD NOT ADVERTISE OR ADVOCATE SUCH BEHAVIOR AS A SPORT OR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BECOME A FAMILY TRADITION. PEOPLE MAY NOT HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET AN EDUCATION FOR LACK OF FUNDS BUT PEOPLE CAN READ AND LEARN BY READING.
MANY DO NOT REALLY UNDERSTAND THE CELEBRATION AND THE ORIGIN OF MARDI GRAS AND FOR YOUR INFO. ALTHOUGH MANY THINK THAT THE STATUE OF LIBERTY IS ABOUT LIBERTY AND A GIFT OF FRANCE, IT IS A GIFT TO AMERICA ABOUT LIBERTINE NOT LIBERTY...IT IS ABOUT DOING WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO...
LIKE JOAN SAID:"money that it takes to repair damaged property takes away from paying employees a higher wages amongst other things. You are having FUN at anothrs expense. SELFISH PEOPLE."...
THAT LOSS OF REVENUE MAY IMPACT YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS....THE GOLDEN RULE: "DON'T DO TO OTHERS WHAT YOU DON'T WANT DONE TO YOU." ...AND BY THE WAY, APES CAN BE TAUGHT TO BE COURTEOUS, AND SO CAN DOGS AND AND MOST OTHER BEASTS, THEREFORE, IF WE CAN TRAIN NON-HUMANS TO BE COURTEOUS, THEN LET'S LEARN IT OURSELVES AND TEACH IT TO OUR OFFSPRINGS, AND IF WE ARE AMIDST LOW-LIFE INDIVIDUALS, IT DOESNT MEAN THAT WE HAVE TO ACT IN THEIR FOOLISH BEHAVIOR, TO THE CONTRARY, WE MUST STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND LET THEM KNOW THAT SUCH BEHAVIOR IS ABHORRIBLE...I WISH THAT WHOEVER MADE SUCH AN AD, IS NOT AN AMERICAN. WE ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH UGLY AMERICANS, WE WANT TO BE KNOWN AS PEOPLE WHO WISH TO INSTILL HIGHER AND BETTER VALUES TO SOCIETIES.
WHAT ARE OUR BELOVED SOLDIERS DOING IN THE MIDDLE EAST? STOPPING IRRATIONAL BEHAVIOR. LET'S REMEMBER THAT!!!!!Cordally, Arlenice

someone claimed that their hotel had high quality beds, if they were of a high quality there wouldn't be a problem. the problem with jumping on beds is the frame. most people won't jump on there bed at home becasue the frame won't handle it, most hotels have solid boxed frames so it's not a problem. my father never bought anything low quality and belived children should be children and that sometimes adults should be too. so my father built a solid bed frame.my parents last matress lasted 30 years and was the most comfortable bed i've ever slept in. that bed took the abuse of seven children jumping on it daily our parents sometimes jumped with us! and we were still jumping on it well into our teens! 33 grandchildren have jumped on that matress and are also allowed to jump on the new one. and although grampa is gone and granda is well into her 70's and weighs over 200lbs the grandkids love that grandma still jumps on the bed once in a while. that was a quality matress. it was still comfotable the day it went to the dump. the only reason it had to go was 30 years of all those children spilling things and having accidents.
Kace May 6th 2007 2:19PM
The next time you decide to let you children or yourself jump on that hotel bed, take a black light with you and look at all those stains your jumping on. Maybe the gross factor will make you stop. Also, by jumping on that bed you are releasing bed mites that were buried deep in that mattress and are now munching on you while you sleep. Happy jumping!
JR May 6th 2007 2:34PM
to the guy who said raddisons have sleep number beds. there's no need to worry sleep numbers come with a 20 year warranty that will replace the air chambers if you can pop them w/o actually stabbing them with something. i have one and while they're great to sleep on they're not good for jumping. so anyone trying would just be dissapointed.
blondevixen May 6th 2007 2:52PM
i'd much rather bump than jump ....in a bed!

This is what people do to get their kicks? What a waste of precious time. No wonder the world is in the shape that it is in. If people would tske the time to help others instead of acting stupid, the world would be a better place for all of us.

I highly doubt your mother taught you to jump on a bed, especially someone else's bed. Infact I bet she'd tear up your rear end for it. Do you allow your children to jump on beds and ruin someone else's property and that it's ok to be disrespectful to things that they are being allowed to use? If you were to ask your mother what she would do if she ever caught you jumping on someone elses bed what do you think shed say?
