Bed Jumping: Sounds Dirty ... But Isn't
Bed Jumping can be done individually, as a group, while doing other activities or while wearing masks. You even get extra points for face plants. Happily, this equal-opportunity activity even allows for this poor man to participate, despite his obvious physical deformity. (Ouch ... that's gonna hurt.)

If all this bed jumping is a little too juvenile for you, you can always check out HBC's user-submitted shots of various hotel pools. It's cool, too, though not as offbeat.

Obviously a group of people with too much time on their hands....I can just imagine the condition of the beds after having "adults" jumping on them, possibly breaking the bedframes, especially the "group" sessions.
No wonder it costs an average of 160.00 for a hotel room, we're all paying to replace beds.

This was one of the first things the kids, wife and I would do when we checked into a hotel room on vacation. Many years ago but still great memories and oh those face plants.

and your complain about your hotel bill being high. you do this once at my hotel , but you would also be charged for the destroyed bed. Shame, shame for abusing other peoples property

i jump on my bed at home =]
summerrain33 Apr 14th 2007 11:24AM
Why do you think that something you don't do at home is OK to do in a Hotel? Housekeeping staff is held responsiable for damage done to rooms, broken beds, torn sheets etc,. Be it my hotel, you had better be wearing a mask! Go home and jump on your own beds!!

Vanda, if the beds in your hotel are so cheaply made that they can't stand up to a little bed jumping, then you need to fork out the $$ for some new and better beds anyway. And I had to laugh at your comment about being charged for damaged beds - you can charge for whatever you want, getting payment is a different matter!!

SO typical of today's thoughless population. Don't destroy your own stuff... do it to somebody else's. I see it all the time with car rentals, people out 4 wheeling while tearing up someone else's land, and now this... while you are at it why not bounce off the bed and through the window and see if you all can't do the rest of us a favor and take yourselves out of the gene pool.

I have managed hotels for many years, several decades. We spent big bucks on beds, more than the average person would be willing to shell out for em. Yea, they wont take abuse just like anything else wont. If you break it, you bought it. Thats why hotel rooms are so expensive anymore, cause many times the damage is not found till too late to prove who did it. Dont talk cheap beds, cause they are not.

We are the owners of an historic bed and breakfast, the 1840 Tucker House in Louisville, KY. Please, please respect our antique furnishings and beds by using them for quiet sleep and not jumping. We have coverlets and quilts that are 150 years old on our beds. Our linens are not cheap, motel throw-aways. This type of behavior is a major reason many B&B's do not take children (we do). I would hope that in any accommodation, such activity would not be advisable. Please think what you are doing to someone else's property. If you need physical activity, we have five acres of woods and a swimming pool for that. Thanks.

Just another moronic activity for brainless morons.
Why must some people act like yard-apes and destroy other people's property. They trash hotel rooms and furnishings, drive rental cars like they in competing in a demolition derby, and then, bitch about the rates they pay. Hell !! I wonder why things are so high ? To cover the costs of losses and insurance rates !!!
Try acting like responsible adults for a change , instead of like a low double digit I.Q. MORON !!!

Talk about WHITE TRASH but it has nothing to do with a race. Anyone who thinks it is OK to not respect others property is a complete LOOSER. I do not run a hotel business but I do run a business. The money that it takes to repair damaged property takes away from paying employees a higher wages amongst other things. You are having FUN at anothrs expense. SELFISH PEOPLE. (by the way I am white so I can say white trash so do not take this as a racial slur)

What obivous physical deformity does the guy in the picture have? I don't see one.

I am in hotel 365 days a year. I need a firm bed to sleep well. When idiots abuse beds like a 4 year old customers like me suffer, I either get a damaged bed, or I pay higher prices. Stay home, buy a trampoline-grow up!
I note he is in the bed by himself, I can see why.

Why is it so wrong to do the right thing? You that do this know it is wrong to do. You that think this is a cute activity have just demonstrated your various intelligence levels: mentally, socially, and morally placing yourself with apes and gorillas. Congratulations!

Steve, great way to advertise. I am in Lexington. I may have to look you up.

The DORK pictured in mid-air is undoubtedly the original 40 year old virgin. What woman with any self respect would acually have sex with this loser?
Patrick Flanagan Apr 14th 2007 1:54PM
I am always for having a good time, but this is absurd, destructive and downright wrong. One of the problems we are having in this country is the lack of respect....for the property of others and their feelings. The idea of this being gentlemanly goes strongly against my grain.

you ppl must not have lives if you can't even have a lil fun on vacation. jumping on a bed isn't going to kill it. if you're so wound up about that, then you're really gonna hate the damage done to beds in honeymoon suites! haha! that's if any of you could get into one! lol.....
Jess Apr 14th 2007 1:29PM
Wow. Ya'll are, for the most part, a lot of miserable people aren't you? Beds are designed to take some grief. And i highly doubt that a single night (actually probably 3 hours tops) of jumping on them is going to completely ruin a matress etc. If you're THAT worried about it, think about all the sex that's been happening there too (and in the bathroom, on the floor, etc). On that thought this "loser" you've decided to visciously insult for no apparent reason is a few shades more attractive than Ron Jeremy, and look at his career.
All of that aside. Yes it sounds like a goofy "sport", but wonderful for the spirit. Everyone seems so focused on negativity they're forgetting to enjoy all the things we've worked for. So hop on. Because the cost of oranges didn't go up due to people jumping on fruit, much in the same way this inflation of pricing isn't LIMITED to replacing beds and broken property. That's a cop out.
Meanwhile have a beautiful day.

One contributer commented ". you ppl must not have lives if you can't even have a lil fun on vacation. jumping on a bed isn't going to kill it.".....well since he believes this I would like to know if he jumps on his own bed with any regularity or allows his children (if he can stop jumping on the bed long enough to produce a few) on their beds?
Another states "Beds are designed to take some grief. And i highly doubt that a single night (actually probably 3 hours tops) of jumping on them is going to completely ruin a matress etc." Maybe one night of jumping 3 hrs by you but how many others have thought the same and jumped before you?
Having fun on your vacation does not mean you can destroy property or for that matter ruin someone elses vacation by your hyperactive destructive mentality and behavior.
If you were jumping on the bed for your fun and it collapsed and you got hurt I wonder if you would want to sue the Hotel? You probably would even though your chidish antics were what got you hurt in the 1st place.
