I hate to say it but thats what travel insurance is for. They lost a bag of mine, I had a 15k diamond watch in it. (I forgot I left it in there or it would have been on me) I had travel insurance and ended up making money on it. Yes someone got a really nice watch out of it, but I bought another one and treated myself to another mini trip :)
