To be scrupulously correct, Dubrovnik's on the Adriatic. But the photo is magical. The closeup of the roof tiles lets you see which ones were replaced after the bombardment in 1991-1992, when much of Dubrovnik was destroyed. They've done amazing restoration job on the city.

I'm feeling it. Hopefully I'll be feeling it for real in a couple of weeks. I'm bringing the kids, but no way in hell am I bringing their snowsuits.
(We got four inches of the white stuff in NYC earlier this week. That ain't right AT ALL.)
