Outdoor Chinese Urinals -- Not for the Modest!

This thing is essentially a step up from a diaper, but eh, I'd still use it. They seriously need to put them by my house (and around every other college campus in the United States). If I had a dollar for every time I've seen drunk frat guys peeing on the side of a building, I'd quit my job and travel the world telling everyone how I got rich simply by seeing a bunch of guys pee outside of a bathroom. I'd be famous! Though now that I think about it, even if these were sprinkled throughout town around campus, I bet I'd still see guys peeing in the streets. What's with that?

Uhh, these are NOT new. We have them EVERYWHERE in Europe, including London and Amsterdam. And most of them don't even have that little modesty shield covering your behind like the one in this picture.
For anyone who needs to, uhh, sit, here in London we also have enclosed pay toilets on the streets that clean themselves after you exit.

Everyone is so worried about people peeing on the street and on buildings.
Have you forgotten the number of dogs and cats and wild bunnies and who knows how many other animals pee on grass, buildings, houses, and all over everyday. In fact male dogs like to raise their legs to get it as high as possible. The higher they leave their mark, the better!! LOL
And remember, the warm spring rains, usually acid rain will come down and wash it all into the grass and soil underneath anyway. Ever wonder why your high heels discolor? It's from all the ammonia in the grass from dogs peeing.
P.S. I have a dog so I in no way am putting them down. In fact I laugh at people who get angry. Do they expect animals to wear diapers and dump those in the landfill sites too? Before people invented plumbing it all went in one place anyway so what is the difference now?

when I was stationed in France 40 years ago they had something similar all over Paris, but much bigger with advertising on them. When I returned in 2005 they were all gone. Does anyone out there know what happened to them? I think they were called "pissoires"

I think these things are great. I have used them in amsterdam and other countries. I would much rather use these than to have to go into some toilet where there is some old fat guy, in a stall ripping farts and blowing chunks into a crapper. Besides if your momma taught you well, you wont pee on your hands and therefore have no need for a basin.

Wow....now I've seen it all. This is absolutely rediculous. While we all know each other urinate, having it in your face is another story. Urinals are disgusting in any case (even inside a men's restroom) but at least that way men can keep their stinky, nasty facilities to themselves and pee in front of each other all they want. Instead of finding a solution to men urinating in public (which is illegal to begin with) why not throw them in jail for a month for indecent exposure. See if remains a habit then. I think it's all about how a person is raised. If you didn't have a decent family that raised you with some class, these urinals are perfect for you.....and peeing in public too. Bottom line.....it's about class. Most people don't have any.

I don't think the point of washing your hands has to do with urine getting on them. Sorry, but a person's genitals is NOT clean. A high percentage of men do not wash their hands after using the bathroom (after handling genitals). Give me a break.....any decent mother would have taught their children to wash their hands. Lazy mothers let their young boys urinate anywhere, thus why they remain pigs and pee anywhere as adults. What is so hard about finding a bathroom? Unisex bathroom -- will never happen in the U.S. Why should women have to share a nasty restroom with men. You can smell pee coming from the mens restroom a mile away. The womens does not smell like that. The guys can savor that among each other -- thanks anyway. BTW....do you expect a guy working at a restaurant to wash his hands after urinating before handling your food. If so, you are a hypocrit.

What does animal peeing have to do with human peeing. Animals don't have a choice......people do. Is it illegal for an animal to pee outside of a restroom?? Is it illegal for a person to pee in public?? Rest my case.....personal opinions don't matter when it comes to breaking the law.

At least its looks like plastic and fairly easy to clean. Do they move them around or are they disposable? How do you keep them from flying down the road occupant and all when windy. Doesnt rain fill them up and make them overflow? Curious, if they are cleaned sometimes, is it a male that does it?

The urinals in Amsterdam are actually more graphic, lacking the shield on the back completely: http://www.randomfaq.com/facts/00442/?Amsterdam's%20Outdoor%20Urinals/
