How Environmentally Friendly Are You? Take the Ecological Footprint Quiz
Do you drive a gas-guzzling SUV, leave all your lights on and eat at McDonald's everyday, or do you live completely off the grid, bike to work and grow your own vegetables? Chances are you fall somewhere in between. You may recycle or eat only locally grown veggies and meats, but if you're like me, you have absolutely no idea whether or not your way of living is doing any harm to Mother Earth. The Earthday Network has put together an Ecological Footprint Quiz to estimate the amount natural resources your lifestyle requires, and then compares the results to national and worldwide averages. Just fill out some location-based information and answer 15 questions, and you'll be a little bit closer to knowing whether you're living in our out of ecological harmony. I wonder how Al Gore would score?
Me? Well, okay. Here are my results:

Wow, that is scary. I hate to admit my footprint was 20. Thank you for sharing, now I'm going to sit down and write out some resolutions to reduce that number!

My total footprint is 3.1 and I would need 1.7 planet. I must to lower it because as you know we have only 1 planet.
By the way, for people interested in green living, there is a website http://www.ourecohouse.info which runs a competition where you and 39 other people could receive $19,000 to improve your ecological living.

April - May 2007
This spring an experienced Earthship crew will be starting construction on Europe’s first residential Earthship to have a building permit. The total project consists of enclosing the structural shell of the building; tire walls, roof beams, insulation, greenhouse framing, and glazing. The water and power systems will also be installed enabling the project owners to utilize solar power and the water caught on site for further construction purposes. Greywater planters will be constructed, interior walls will be built, and with time permitting finishes will be started.
