Dave Barry on Miami

Check out this wonderfully hilarious piece by Dave Barry over at the Miami Herald. In classic Barry form, he welcomes Superbowl fans to his fair city, offering them not only Spanish lessons, but travel advice as well. He makes special mention (several times) of Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo, who apparently made reference to Miami as a Third World city back in November.

How dare he, writes Barry, "Miami is WAY better armed than any third-world country". The piece is part of a whole package by the paper on the Superbowl and what's happening around the city, but it is probably the most entertaining part.

I have to say, I am not a big fan of Miami, but right now, it is 18 degrees outside here in New York City, and even if Miami is cheesy and doubly so on the day of the Superbowl, I think I wouldn't mind being there right now.

Oh, by the way. Barry is blogging the Superbowl RIGHT now.
