I spent several months in PNG, just hithing, hiking, and going down rivers. Rented a dugout canoe and driver and went up the Sepik. Slept in long houses and bought some interesting native art. In those days alot of masks were made on top of turtle shells. Incredible place but could be a little dangerous. Just use your head.
