Tumi's Electric Adaptor for Travel
A lot of stuff from travel gear company Tumi can be ridiculously expensive. But that's because the stuff tends to be very high quality. I actually use the Tumi courier bag to lug my laptop and stacks of magazines around, and I am VERY happy with it. Well, the company also recently unveiled a nice-looking electric adapter that can help you plug in anywhere around the world. The clever one-piece unit provides non-grounded power in over 150 countries. It comes in a nice-looking mesh case and is sold with a USB charger to power most mobile phones, your PDA, and a cigarette lighter adapter. Very useful...but it ain't cheap (relatively speaking). The unit goes for $50.Filed under: Gear

If all you need is the adapter, don't waste your money on the Tumi. This Kensington model is identical (I'm guessing it is made by the same manufacturer) and is less than half the price... it has worked well for me,

Agree with previous comment, this adapter isn't actually "new"... Kensington has been selling them for some time now, however, I image someone else actually makes them, as you can get them under a variety of names.

And the previous two already mentioned... oh, but they are the best. :)

I got this adaptor as a present. I'm from Sydney, Australia and will be going to South Korea and Japan in 21 days time. I'm certain it'll be right for use in South Korea, but as for Japan they use 100V. Does it reduce or convert voltage? I don't really understand this stuff and the manual isn't that helpful and I didn't find anything on the Tumi website.
