1. Where was your photo taken: In Madrid, hiding from the paparazzi. I mean cold.

2. Where do you live now: I split my time between New York City and my native Prague, Czech Republic.

3. Scariest airline flown: My scariest flight was probably the one from New York to London right after 9/11. Can’t remember the airline but it could have been Air Anxiety for all I remember.

4. Favorite city/country/place: A split between New York and Prague. Followed by London and Rome. Clearly, I like cities.

5. Most remote corner of the globe visited: Probably some place in southwest China. Although you are surrounded by millions of people, you feel remote.

6. Favorite guidebook series: Lonely Planet for backpacking. TimeOut for cities.

7. Person you’d most like to interview for Gadling: George W. Bush. Everyone can learn a thing or two about geography from the master himself.

8. The most unusual food you’ve ever eaten: Snake and dog. Willingly and unwillingly.

9. Where do you hide your emergency cash: Emergency cash takes the fun out of traveling. Don’t do it.

10. Dream travel destination: This year, it is Peru and Russia. I try not to dream past the next few months. When dreaming turns into planning, half of the appeal is gone.
