Stink 0, Airlines 1
A German man removed from a British Airways flight for being too stinky has lost his lawsuit against the airline.
The malodorous passenger sued for costs incurred as the result of missing his connecting flight. The $2,819 settlement he was seeking included the cost of one night in a hotel and the wages lost as a result of he and his wife missing an extra day of work.
A court in Düsseldorf, however, sided with the airline and their very clear policy of refusing transport to those who "have an offensive odor not caused by a disability or illness."
The stinky German's excuse of having to carry three suitcases in 84 degree heat was not considered a disability by the court and the case was tossed out. Interestingly enough, the man never showed up in court, making me wonder if he was concerned that the judge would have taken a whiff and tossed out the case before even hearing any arguments.

Beverly Nov 28th 2006 12:34PM
Oh, and for all of you that think there are problems with the way Americans are using the english language.............let's not forget, English is not the official language of the United States. Just an FYI

Tammy?? Don't you think this is a bit of an over reaction to what Holly said? Seems to me it's not very "adult " to attack Holly personally this way over her comment on a grammatical error.
-->>279." Holly, you must be a young one or you had a HORRIBLE family life. This is why there are so many strange people in this world and it is scary to send our children to school anymore, because
of people like you. A bit of ADULT advice, do not have children!!!!!

Larry Larry Larry.....People getting shot in Iraq and people dying of all types of diseases has nothing to do with people being concerned about grammar. People can actually be concerned about BOTH; Or are you suggesting we shut down all the schools and universities until the war is over and there are no more diseases?
Jeanie Nov 28th 2006 12:41PM
Mary??? Do you have a pet peeve about picking at someone for picking at someone's grammar? You say it's the Internet and not English class, but are you aware that if we get sloppy in one area, it can make us sloppy in all areas? By that I mean, if we dumb down our writing online, evenutally it will be seen in our writing on the job.
207. "One of my biggest pet peeves is people who pick apart other people's grammar on the internet. It's the INTERNET folks......not ENGLISH and GRAMMAR class!!!!!! Go ahead....point out my errors to me...I could really care less!!"

From start to last including this one, this whole subject really stinks. Pun intended, of course. Have a nice day everybody including the stinker. I wonder if he is reading this blog. I doubt it.

Jeanie, you said Larry, but I know you're referring to me because that is what I brought up as far as losing people in Iraq, but I also said people getting shot, meaning by robbers, or murderers, and yeah I said people are dying of diseases everyday, so who gives a RATS ASS about grammar?????!!!!!!! I'm saying it don't need to be taken this far, and my name is JERRY, not Larry, get it right, damn it, can't you read? You can't even say someone's name right? It's right in front of you, gee. Yeah, you sound like you have an IQ of about 10. What the hell are you talking about? What I said means, and I'm making it as clear as I possibly can here, and that is with all this other bad stuff going on in the damn world, nobody is worrying about OTHER PEOPLE'S GRAMMAR LIKE YOU and some of these other people, because there are much MORE THINGS to worry about in this world!!!!!! People, this is only English we're talking about. It's not worrying about getting your head blown off like people in Iraq and some of these other countries do. Another words, it's a waste of time because it's not important, so what you said Jeannie isn't relevant, because my whole point is you don't need to worry about grammar when there is people dying of cancer, aids, starving people in Africa. When you think of stuff like this, there isn't any reason to even care about something so minor in this world as GRAMMAR!!! Think about it folks, learn to agree to disagree and have a nice day.
