Garbage Truck Camper

Who said garbage trucks couldn't be campers or that they weren't sexy enough to roll through nature's great outdoors? I'm not entirely sure who the owner of this decked out garbage truck camper with an extremely sleek interior is, but I'll tell you this: I'm sure there are many a Y chromosome out there putting this on their Christmas wish lists. There isn't much of an item description on this large piece of camping gear, but the pictures lead me to believe it is very pricey. There is a kitchen, tons of cabinet space, comfortable living area and a bed up top just to start. Go take a look for yourself and ladies the next time a guy invites you camping and shows up in a garbage truck, remember it's the inside that counts. Hopefully it won't be trashed.

Adrienne!!!,
Surely you jest?
This is by no means a Garbabe Truck! Google expedition vehicle and you will find many european built heavy military type all terrain vehicles converted to campers. I was followed from Zion to Arches, Canyonlands, and points east by one of these babies during my last month on the road. I was camping in the back of my pickup, and yes, I want one under my tree this year.

Well thanks Don for clearing that up for me. I had no clue what to call the large heavy duty piece of camping equip... Sounds as though you've had a much closer look at them than I have and well, I hope Santa gets one under your tree this year.
Cheers,

Diane,
I'm sorry to say that I have little info on the cost and where to purchase this camper, but if you plan on getting this for your 19-yr old then I only have two words and one question for you:
1. You Rock!
2. Will you get me one too? :)
According to Don you should be able to Google "expedition vehicle" and find many search results.

I find it hard to believe, it looks longer inside than outside......

I'm curious if these pics are fake. The interior shows windows on both sides of the truck as well as the back and the top, yet the exterior pics don't show any windows at all... Hmmmm... Does it pop up or something... where are the windows "hidden"??? I also agree that it looks longer and taller on the inside.

If you look inside at the corners there is upright poles whioch i beleive bush the roof up from the bed level.. In Australia this is the same truck we use for garbage collectin (except this on has a totally new shell/camper on the back)
Anyone know where this one is from, where you can buy or get plans?

I did some searching and found the site check out www.unicat.net I clicked on Austrailia, English, Vehicle, and picked individual, then Gallery and the camper above seems to be the VXL 16-ID. There are several more vehicles - incredible - makes my Mallard seem dull, but I still love camping in it!!!! Hope I have helped ~ Enjoy!
