Travel Tip: Don’t Ride the Luggage Conveyor Belt

There are few bold, ridiculous and stupid things you can try at an airport these days without getting in trouble. Taking a ride on the luggage conveyor belt as a young lad by the name of Chris Jackson did, is a huge no-no. The 23-year-old let his curiosity get the best of him when he hopped on board the conveyor belt and took a ride into a secured area where a baggage handler saw him and called security. Needless to say the police at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport didn’t take light of the situation and took Mister Jackson in on a charge of criminal trespass. While he is free on $5,000 personal recognizance bail he must stay away from the airport and go to trial Dec. 18 at Derry District Court. Stupid or just plain stupid? Even at the age of six I don’t think I would have attempted something like such. $5,000 bucks ought to really put a hurting on the pockets. Think that could have been a trip to Africa, Japan, or Tonga – all for a ride on the conveyor belt.
