Smoke-Free Hotel Rooms
There are few things in life more disgusting than the rancid smell of someone else's cigarette smoke entrenched deep within the curtains, carpets, and bedding of a hotel room. Gag!
No offense to you smokers out there, but your stink remains long after you've checked out. Even non-smoking rooms tend to be similarly soiled; smoke, after all, floats around and settles where it pleases.
That's why I was excited to learn that one hotel chain is doing something about it. Westin Hotels & Resorts have now banned smoking entirely within their establishments. In doing so, they had to throw away all the bedding and drapes -- the lungs of the smoking rooms -- and thoroughly de-stench entire hotels.
I don't know about you, but Westin has now won my business. And now Marriott is following in their footsteps. Thank you!

This is to 616 Burned..So smokers don't belong in first class hotels?? Well, my husband and I both stay in 5 star Hotels, and we both smokeI don't understand how you can be so ignorant to think that non smoking rooms smell like smoke..If you have a non smoking room, that means that the whole floor is non smoking, and each room is self contained..You really are dumb if you think that you will be sitting in an outdoor restauant and smokers can't smoke outside..I live in California, and I always smoke in the patio of a fine dining restauant..I also have an ashtray in my car, and I don't go to a non smokers home and smoke, I go outside..But if a non smoker comes to my house and thinks I am not going to smoke, the hotel is right down the street.. And Robin # 616, thanks for the idea.The only thing that I would do differently if I had to stay at a non smoking hotel, is I will bring my own ashtray..Ya know, the smoking hotel rooms wouldn't smell like smoke if the hotels would put blinds in the rooms instead of thos old curtains..Wre just stayed at the penhouse of the Mirage, and the only thing that upset me was those darn curtains just wouldnt close right..I need a black room to be able to sleep..Nd to all of you mommies and dadies taking your rug rats to Las Vegas, and complaining of smoke, don't take your kid and the stroller into the casino. I saw it done last month when I was there..Daddy was making a bet while baby was in the carriage..Go to Disneyland...Like a taxi driver said, Las Vegas should be run by the mob again..I agree..

Gene # 637, sounds like you live in California..In the town I live in there are very few nightclubs left..They all went out of business when this stupid smoking ban went into effect..Jims Place was a nightclub that had famous Country singers come in all of the time..Now it is a Mexican Restauant..I am a smoker and to He** to the non smokers who think they are all holier than thou..Well they have no banned trans fat..Whats next?? I was at a rolling Stones concert many years ago at The Oakland Coliseum, these two people next to me lit up a joint..I dont care for pot, but I didn't say anything because it is none of my business..A few minutes later I lit up a cigarette, and the same two people had the nerve to say "Do you mind" I wont tell you what I told them because it wont get posted
