What's on Where

One of the greatest joys of traveling is arriving at a place and discovering that some local festival is going on. I've been rather fortuitous to have this happen to me a handful of times on my journeys and it always makes the trip far more enjoyable.

Certainly one of the worst things is finding out about a cool event that just concluded the day before you arrived.

So, how does one find out about such events in advance so that you can plan your journey around them?

A great website, WhatsOnWhere.com, has been launched to help out. Simply type in your travel destination and the site will tell you what's going on the city and local area. You can also search by activities such as arts, kids, music, and even a category called "bizarre" which features events such as the World Punkin' Chunkin' Championships in Long Neck, Delaware (It's all about chucking a pumpkin -- photo above).
