Jacket Racket

Gortex, fleece, tin foil...there are so many ways to drape yourself with material to keep out the elements. What's an outdoorsy guy/gal to do? Well, the Seattle Times is featuring a guide to jacket fabric that may come in handy now that we've passed through Labor Day and into a cool Fall.

The article takes a look at several of the most popular materials now being used in a clothing category still being defined in the outerwear industry, but referred to as softshell. The fabrics all have high-techy names like Schoeller Dryskin Extreme and Polartec and all will run you a bit of coin, ranging from about $100 up to $295. The good folks at the Seattle Times want you to be sure you're up on the newest outdoor fashion so you don't go out there looking like a doofus.
