In a city the breadth and size of New York, “Best of Lists” tend to be lessons in frustration; there are so many great restaurants, bookstores, cafes, and bars in New York, how ever in the world do critics narrow them down and recommend the very best? And who are these people and are their tastes the same as mine?
Well, when I discovered that Travel & Leisure (based in New York for 35 years) decided to publish their “favorite New York experiences” I realized that this was a list I was certainly going to trust.
Check it out and see if you agree. In the meantime, my next trip to New York will most definitely include the Strand bookstore on Broadway, hot chocolate at Jacques Torres on Hudson Street, eating Gouda at Murray’s Cheese Shop in the West Village, and a few other recommendations from the list.
