The wonderful thing about seeing the Northern Lights (in Finnish Revon Tulet) in Finland is that if you are far enough north you can also HEAR them. It is a very weird and eerie sound.
My wife is from Oulu, the largest city in the north half of Finland. We visit in the summer when the days are 20 hours long. That means in the winter the nights are that long. But you need to go in the Winter if you want to see the Northern Lights. No pictures can truly capture their beautfy.
