Firefly Light
Not sure how many folks get stuck out there in the wilderness without a light, but here's a really cool device that turns your water bottle into a lantern. Called The Firefly, it seems pretty handy. You merely use your regular big mouth Nalgene bottle and screw the Firefly on top. When you turn it on, zoing! you get a nice lovely light. Of course, if you want to get really tricky, you can use all sorts of different colors of Gatorade and make neato colors. This might serve you well if you need to line up a while bunch of these to make an airstrip or something. Come on, professor, you've watched Gilligan's Island. Just think how useful these would be!

This is very similar to the solar powered LightCap,
http://www.sollight.com/products/lightcap.cfm, which is only a bit more expensive. And the LightCap would presumably be easier on your battery budget (it is unclear to me how the Firefly charges).

So cool. I want one altough i´ll probably end up using it as a lamp since i don´t travel to any place where i´d need it.

Also looks like the Firefly is only the cap, where the LightCap is the whole package, a better deal. The Firefly design is cool and I like the strap better, but it's pricey in comparison and you still have to change batteries out vs. the solar powered LightCap. Both really cool ideas...

I'm told they have no where near enough power to be usefull as anything but a night light. Any specs on light levels available anywhere?
