Los Angeles: A Plethora of Free Entertainment

Thanks to a recent comment by Bruce on our Hollywood Bowl post, I jumped over to a blog he recommended called www.freeinla.blogspot.com/. Rather self explanatory, this daily blog updates all the free activities happening in Los Angeles.

I’m impressed; the site is exhaustive. Nearly all the freebies covered in today’s other Free Entertainment post are included in this blog, in addition to countless others. The site spotlights various acts and performances well in advance, as well as conveniently summarizes all that is scheduled for the following day. Here’s just half of the list for tonight:

* Friday night jazz from Alan Pasqua at the L.A. County Museum of Art
* As You Like It from Independent Shakespeare in Barnsdall Park
* Film: Josephine Baker’s 1927 debut in Siren of the Tropics at the Hammer Museum at 8:00.
* Lisa Haley and the Zydekats at California Plaza at noon.
* Dancing under the Stars in Pasadena with the Big Town Seven at 6:30.

Man! I sure wish they had something like this when I was a poor college student.
