United Mileage Plus

United fans take note. It looks like the airline will be adding some booking fees for various award flights and might be increasing the number of miles needed for Standard and Saver Award flights. The changes, it seems, will take place on October 16, 2006.

You can view all the upcoming changes on United’s Awards page. But in an effort to not upset everybody who now holds a gazillion miles, they are offerintg to cut the number of miles needed for various short hall saver award flights. These are basically roundtrip tickets for getting your bad self between cities like San Francisco and Seattle, Chicago and Washington-Dulles and others. To do these flights, you have to spend a mere 15,000 miles...whiich differs from the 25,000 miles they normally cost.
