Photo of the Day (4/10/06)

There's something about European cities at night.  I don't know what it is -- the old architecture, the brilliant way they're lit -- there's just something magical about them.  They seem like something straight out of a childlike fantasy.  And today's picture of the day, the Palacio de Communicaciones taken by wongoz, truly captures that feeling of enchantment.  It's sort of hard to believe that this is Madrid's central post office -- it makes the small one in my neighbourhood seem downright dowdy and institutional!

If you'd like one of your travel photos to be featured in our Image of the Day, be sure to visit our Flickr Pool, and upload your best shots there.  Every day we'll pick one to be featured here on Gadling.  Thanks!
