Motor City Revs Up
We're less than a week away from Superbowl Sunday, an event that's well, lost a bit of luster over the years. But it's
still a big event worldwide, and it's putting Detroit, a city that doesn't get a lot of tourist love, on the big stage.
So what's Motor City up to for this, the 40th edition of the Super Bowl? Sounds like they're pulling out all the stops.
They city is
holding everything from a winter carnival to casinos to an explosion of famous art works and local history. Why,
they'll even give you a tour of a Ford factory and a museum devoted to Motown. The PR folks in Detroit are saying that
people will quickly forget that Detroit is a blighted, wrecked industrial city in the throes of serious decline. In
some places that's known as putting lipstick on a pig...OK, ok, harsh. But we ought to give them a chance. They say
that abandoned buildings are being converted into loft apartments while office space along some of Detroit's main
thoroughfares is being dramatically restored. So that's all just the beginning. Sad, it's only one day.

Bad news: ABC has rejected the 10th submission for a commercial during this year’s Super Bowl. The Good news: Go Daddy believes that ABC does want to find middle ground for a commercial that is acceptable to ABC, the NFL and Go Daddy. Best news: there is a link to the commercial so you can see for yourself what all the hoopla is about.
