Sustainable Travel's Green Gear Guide

I've been meaning to write about this gear guide since before Christmas, but it escaped me somehow. As I prepare to make smart gear decisions for my trip, I made a mental note to spend some time reviewing the special guide put together by the folks at Sustainable Travel International before making any big purchases. STI put together its 1st Annual Green Gear Guide, which features eco-friendly products made with recycled or renewable materials or offered by distributors at fair trade prices. They've got suggestions here for every kind of board: snow, skate, surf. Plus a variety of environmentally friendly products that runs the gamut from insect repellant to camp stoves to frisbees! The backpack shown here has interchangable flexible solar panels (which you can use to charge your phone), and they list a variety of other eco-conscious options for each category in their online guide. Take a look and think green before you make your next travel gear purchase.
