The Trinidad Diaries
The
beauty of travel tales are no two are exactly alike. Many people will embark on similar journeys to the same destination
on a map, but the thoughts, emotions, culture shock will all vary by the individual. I've been to Trinidad only once
with a second trip coming at the speed of light and while I wanted to stay forever the first time around some
obligations back home kept me from doing so. On the contrary, Marcus
had only planned on being on the island for two months which somehow turned into two years. In his blog, The Trinidad Diaries, (which he no longer writes as he has
departed from Trinidad) travelers with similar experiences are left to recount the days he spent in Tobago or trips to
an area called Down the Islands. Blog entries range from March 2002 to July 2003. It's easy to read them all as the writer didn't blog day and night about being in the country, but what's there is certainly worth checking out. From his thoughts on crime, working in Trinidad to travels elsewhere his experiences are quite interesting and unlike some of my own. On a different note, we both managed to capture similar shots of this area somewhere between Miami and Trinidad. However, his shot above is much better than mine.
