Tighter U.S. Border Control

So this one isn't entirely travel related, but then again it depends on who is making the journey and their reasons for doing just. I read about it a while back after reading a headline that compared the plans for tighter border control and constructing a fence along the U.S. and Mexico borders to that of the Berlin wall. Surely that would capture the attention of most and let me say Mexico is fuming over these plans. The Chicago Tribune describes the 700 mile border extension plans through the feelings of officials and migrants. President Vicente Fox and his foreign minister call the fence a "wall and barrier" and call the proposal "shameful and stupid." Though several immigrants have endured serious injuries by trying to cross the border, scale the fence, or even in the hands of the human smugglers it doesn't seem these plans for tighter security will stop their seeking a better life, job security, the American dream, or whatever adventure lies up north.
