Thanksgiving Travel Tale, Part Two

wagon

Since I wrote a Part One, I feel like I have to write a Part Two, although I'm not really sure what I was expecting to occur on the return trip. My post-Thanksgiving travel was not as eventful as the pre-holiday trip, but it was a first for me. I waited until today to drive back, a luxury I haven't had in the past, but since I'm not working and in the process of moving, I decided to wait till the traffic rush died down. And it worked — smooth sailing from NY to Baltimore this morning, in my Dad's bright red 1991 Volvo 740 station wagon, a sturdy but aging used car he bought several years ago. It looks like the one in the photo, minus the dented hood. I'm used to driving new cars, so I was nervous about taking this for such a long distance, but, despite a few threatening shakes when I thought it might stall (it never did) I drove four hours without any problems. I made it back, thankful once more, and can now put the travel tales of this holiday to rest. Hope you all had safe travels and a nice holiday too.
