With the help of remote sensor technology, officials in China have announced a plan to
remeasure the Great Wall. How about that job?
The current “official” length of the Great Wall is listed as 7,300 kilometres (approximately 4,500 miles), but is
probably not accurate due to the, “…backward measuring equipment and methods in the past.” Thankfully, technology
comes to the rescue again, so that the correct measurement of this world wonder can be determined. Since the wall is
comprised of many sections, it will be
interesting to see what the final number will be, and how off it is from the one that’s been used for so long now. My
guess: 7,303.
