Darwin on Display
OK, OK, I took some flak for being insensitive to some of the creationist folks out there. I apologize. It's Monday
and maybe I was just a little grumpy. I just wanted to let all the pro-evolutionists out there know that the
Museum of Natural History here in New York City has got an all-new
exhibit on Darwin.
The exhibit provides a comprehensive, historical and scientific look at Darwin and the thoughts he wrought. And it's
not just piles of dead stuff or old notebooks, either. The exhibition features live Galápagos tortoises, an iguana and
horned frogs from South America. It also features the actual fossil specimens collected by Darwin and the magnifying
glass he used to examine them. Why, the design of this new installation sounds almost, how do I put it,
intelligent.

I find it rather unfortunate that you find it necessary to use this blog as a sounding post for your attacks on other people's beliefs. What could have been a rather interesting post on a fascinating man and his theories was needlessly turned into an unpleasant and rather offensive work that will no doubt alienate some of your readers. This is not a religious blog- this is a travel blog, and a good one at that. Just as the secular world is always browbeating Christians at being more "tolerant" and understanding of other's beliefs, I'd appreciate it if you'd do the same.
thank you and God bless,
Mike

Come on, he's just having a little fun. Don't take it so seriously.

Poking a little fun at someone is one thing.... asking them to "find another blog to get your travel news" is another. Are you really serious when you say that you don't want the web traffic of people who don't believe in Darwin's theories? I'm sure your advertisers love to hear comments like that.
Erik Olsen Dec 18th 2005 5:08PM
All right. I was perhaps too cavalier...it has nothing to do with advertisers, merely with being more sensitive...so I tweaked the post a bit. Thanks for the comments, though, guys. It's nice to stir a little debate...but I probably should avoid getting insulting.
