New York City: Safest City

NYC

Given the fact we're covering New York City as our first Gadling CityScape, I figured it was appropriate to post that New York City was the safest BIG city in America. According to the report, the Big Apple saw a 4 percent drop in overall crime from 2003 to 2004 compared to the national drop of just 1.1 percent, and a 14 percent drop from 2001 to 2004 compared to the national drop of just 1.5 percent. So, see, things are getting better here. You're not going to get mugged. I promise.
